Last evening I had the opportunity to join a large crowd to hear Wilson W. Smith III speak to AIGA Orlando.
Following are some notes and thoughts:
In December Smith will have been at Nike for 24 years. He says enjoyment of your job is all about the people you work with. Then he pointed out there are 600 designers at Nike. Wow. Even the CEO Mark Parker started out at Nike as a designer.
I recently spent some time on the phone with our Marketing Director at work discussing our Analytics and AdWords numbers for several campaigns. She told me that in one campaign that she was running, she had seen a huge increase in click-thru's by making a small tweak to the wording of the ad copy. Curious, I loaded up Google Analytics to see for myself.

Here is a graph of the campaign in question. When the two words were added, there was no question where the jump was. So what were the two words? "and RSS."
I had the opportunity to attend the Mobile Web Americas Conference in Orlando, Florida this week. The Mobile Web Market is HUGE and exploding. Now is the time to be ready to deliver content to mobile devices.
Every speaker at the conference began their presentation with a quote similar to:
"There are zillions more mobile units than PCs."
We need to be prepared for this growing user base.
Today, you too can take full advantage of 1Passwrd for a special discount price. Yes, that 1Passwrd. You can get this software for a special discount price of only $19.67 in honor of 'Carl', their newest employee.
So don't wait any longer. You know you've wanted it. You won't regret it.
I think about 1Passwrd many times each day as I login to countless sites and keep thinking, what did I do without it?
Sprint has a new ad called “Dream” that was done entirely with stop motion and flashlights. Several years ago I did some experimentation with flashlights and long shutter speeds but never anything quiet this amazing. It took 4 days to film the whole thing.
First, enjoy the ad:
Now the behind the scenes:
It's amazing what you can do with one line! This is a music video with one Sharpie line this is quite impressive. Finally at the end the camera pulls back and you can see the "whole picture" of what is there.
